SO,YOU DIDN'T WIN THE POUND OF COLOMBIAN

YOU CAN STILL SUBSCRIBE !

Yes, friends, the SUN's "Win a Pound of Colombian" Contest is now officially over, and only one of you won the Big Prize in  our Super Drawing last Friday afternoon. But that doesn't mean everything's all over with -- not by a long shot. The SUN has lots more ideas up its collective sleeve, and you can keep up with them -- plus the significant cultural and political happenings around the area and the world -- by subscribing to Ann Arbor's Community News Service. Every two weeks you'll receive your copy of the SUN, in the mailor, if you live in Ann Arbor or Ypsi, delivered directly to your door the day it hits the streets.

With your subscription to the SUN you'll enter a world which doesn't exist in the daily newspapers or on teevee. You'll read the stories behind the "news" as reported our news analysts will put these stories into perspective so you'll hopefully be able to figure out what the fuck it all means to you. Regular features on health care, new scientific discoveries, the energy problem, Ann Arbor politics, the University's latest machinations, the international scene, and consistent coverage of contemporary music and culture which can not be found elsewhere all come to your way every two weeks in the Ann Arbor SUN

If you subscribe now, while you're thinking about it, and you take out a full year's (24 issues) subscription, we can supply you with you choice of five TRIBE RECORDS releases produced by some of Detroit's leading black creative musicians -- Wendell Harrison, Marcus Belgrave, Harold McKinney, Phil Ranelin, and the collective improvisational unit known as Tribe. You won't find these records offered by any other newspaper in the country (with the happy exception of TRIBE magazine, published by the Tribe collective in Detroit), but that's another of the unique benefits which comes with reading and following the Sun.

AND WE'LL GIVE YOU A FREE RECORD

Now we'll keep on offering different records from time to time with our subscriptions, but the supply of these TRIBE RECORDS is extremely limited, due to the fact that the musicians press them themselves and don't have hundreds of copies to throw away on promotions. So you must act now, and when you do be sure to list your first, second and third choices.

If you still don't care to subscribe to the SUN (and that's certainly your prerogative) but want to get the TRIBE RECORDS or TRIBE MAGAZINE instead, please address your inquiries to TRIBE, 81 Chandler, Detroit, MI. 48202. They're trying to do it the same way we are, and we all need all the help we can get.
