Youth Arrested At City Hall

ILLEGAL DOPE CHARGES BROUGHT!

   Leonard Sklar, a 13 year-old youth community organizer. was arrested last night during a special city council meeting on revenue sharing money.

    Originally charged with possession of stolen property, Leonard was taken to security. searched and then charged with possession of marijuana. The stolen property charges were then dropped.

   Leonard and 3 friends were talking in a hall when an Ann Arbor cop walked up and saw some city owned locks in Leonard's hands. Without telling Leonard or the people with him the charges, the cop took Leonard's arm and led him away.

   Even attempts by 1st ward Councilman Jerry DeGrieck to get information was met with a stony, "You just go back to your council meeting, " from a woman clerk.

    Á lawyer and Leonard's parents later managed to get Leonard released in their custody with further action expected next week. _j
