RUBBER DUBBER RAIDED

Rubber Dubber - a name synonymous with recorded quality in bootleg underground records -- was raided by Federal Marshals in its Los Angeles headquarters in two separate invasions, September 9th and 14th.

In a switch in tactics against the so-called "underground" record producers, the seizure was ordered by a clerk of the Federal district court after suits were filed by two major music publishing firms.

Best known for their counterfeit albums of live concerts, the Rubber Dubber catalog included albums by Van Morrison; Led Zepplin; Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young; Jimi Hendrix; and James Taylor. Their reputation for quality stems from the high degree of sound reproduction on their albums, far exceeding the standard of most bootlegs.
