VOICE OF THE PEOPLE

THIS WEEKS QUESTION:

DO YOU THINK SHERIFF HARVEY HAS THE RIGHT TO CUT PEOPLE'S HAIR WHEN THEY'RE IN HIS JAIL, ESPECIALLY WHILE AWAITING TRAIL? WHY DO YOU THINK HE ENGAGES IN THE PRACTICE?

Penny Jelter: No one should have the right to tell another person how long their hair should be or how short. He's a right-wing conservative cop who imposes his ideas upon other people. I think he's afraid of the People.

Sandy Bird: Street-Freek -- Of course not. He has no right, it's just terrible. It's a person's own decision about the length of his hair. He's just a pig and he wants everybody to have short hair. I guess he's weird.

Arthur Gallheher: Professor -- Well it's possibly a reaction of fear against something he doesn't understand too well.

From his narrow-minded approach long hair is an attempt to break down the law and order structure.

Doug--Hell no! It's like you can't pass an act of law saying something can't grow if it's a normal organic function. He does it to get back at you. He's mad cause he thinks you're a Communist or something.

Alan Cooper: Definitely no -- he has no right to do anything to your body, even if you are found guilty and put in prison. Lots of people take pride in their hair, and by cutting it it breaks down their morale and makes them hate the cops. I think it makes Harvey feel good.
