PSYCHEDELIC SCAPEGOAT PLEDGES PUN'S CIA BOND

A major hurdle on the road to freedom for Pun Plamondon was cleared this week as Larry Canada, one of the Psychedelic Scapegoat Six who are being forced to talk at gunpoint to an illegal Federal grand jury in Detroit, pledged to post the $5,000 in cash that is the required deposit on Pun's bond.

Pun, a member of the Rainbow People's Party central committee who has been imprisoned since last July awaiting trial in the CIA Conspiracy Case, is held on  $50,000 bond in that phony bombing conspiracy neo-fascist wire-tap trial.

Larry is a brother who believes in resisting illegitimate use of force by the state. Kathy Canada, also of the Psychedelic Scapegoat Six and heir to the Lilly (drug) fortune, is his ex-wife.

It is expected that the $5,000 will be formally posted early next week.

After the CIA bond is posted, Pun will be held by firearms charges in the Upper Peninsula, a marijuana charge in Traverse City, and an Ann Arbor charge of distribution of "obscene" literature, in addition to a second count of possession of illegal draft card. Attorneys plan to move for bond or dismissal on all three cases early next week, but normal delays in the bureaucratic court system and/or exorbitant bonds may prolong Pun's unjust incarceration a while longer.

Pun, 26, has never been convicted of any crime greater than drunk and disorderly way back when. He was in maximum security for 10 of the eleven months since he's been awaiting trial.

Since his arrest, Pun has participated, along with five other prisoners, in a class action law suit against bestial conditions in the Wayne County Jail and has continued to struggle from his jail cell against the injustices to which he and many thousands of our brothers and sisters are daily subjected.

Financial support is still urgently needed in the effort to secure Pun's release. Pun has been an active, dedicated, long-hair freek revolutionary, and he faces repression to the tune of seven different Federal and state charges. Dealing with all this weight of the berserk state takes a lot of resources.
