Zines are small booklets made of simple materials and contain text, art, or anything you can put in a book.

Supplies are provided - bring photos, magazine clippings, or other materials if you want to personalize your project!

Jane Austen-Inspired Embroidery

This event is intended for grade 6 - adult

Join us for an evening of embroidery and Austen! There will be a short presentation on needlework in the Austen era and a demonstration of embroidery styles and stitches. Each attendee will create their own needlework keepsake—a personalized, monogrammed handkerchief—with plenty of guidance to get those stitches started.

This event is a partnership with the University of Michigan The Life and Times of Lizzy Bennet Exhibit.

Spend time with our Spin Doctor, local expert Jillian Moreno! She'll answer your spinning questions, solve your spinning problems, help you plan yarn and projects, or show you how to get started!

Jillian will demonstrate two different ways to handle your painted fiber. You’ll learn how to combine them with naturals, solid colors and other painted braids.

If you don't have a burning question, you're more than welcome to come and hang out as we spin away the day.
